Video marketing campaign

Deck and Dagger

The brief

Deck and Dagger commissioned an integrated launch campaign to help introduce a new hobby store and gaming space to the local market.

The business combines retail, tabletop gaming, hobby culture, and community, giving people a place to shop, play, paint, and spend time with others who share the same interests.

The audience included hobbyists, board gamers, miniature painters, and tabletop RPG fans, but the campaign also needed to feel welcoming enough for newer audiences discovering the space for the first time.

The challenge was standing out in a crowded category. There are many hobby shops, and competing purely on product range or stock would have made the brand interchangeable.

Instead, the campaign needed to sell something harder to copy: personality.

Deck and Dagger had a naturally cheeky, fun, community-led tone, and the creative needed to capture that while still presenting the business professionally.

What we did

We developed a multi-format launch campaign built around one clear identity.

Rather than treating video, animation, and design as separate outputs, we created a joined-up brand world that could run across every touchpoint. We also helped shape and define that visual identity so the business had a consistent personality from day one.

For video, we produced promotional films and ongoing social content that showcased the space, products, and personality of the store. The focus was on energy, warmth, and showing the business as somewhere people would actually want to spend time, not just somewhere to buy from.

Alongside this, we created animated loops to build momentum around launch, support live streams, and give the brand a more dynamic presence online.

We also developed a wider illustration and design toolkit, including posters, menus, web assets, social graphics, and character-led creative. These pieces helped bring humour and recognisable personality into the brand in a way that standard retail marketing often lacks.

Across all formats, technical quality mattered. In a market where many businesses rely on quick mobile content, polished production values helped Deck and Dagger feel more established, more distinctive, and more credible from the outset.

The result

The final campaign helped Deck and Dagger launch with a clear personality and a recognisable presence in a competitive market.

By combining polished content with a playful brand voice, the business was able to attract attention beyond its immediate network and begin building a loyal audience quickly.

Within the first 30 days, the brand grew from zero to over 1,000 followers. The content also generated direct anecdotal evidence of people visiting through ads and campaign activity, translating into real footfall and early sales.

Most importantly, the campaign helped turn a new business into a brand people remembered.
