Powerful animated stories

Push the boundaries of storytelling with charity animation videos.

Charity animation videos
Are you a charity looking for an animation?

Charity animation videos can take many forms

Why confine yourself to what is possible in the real world, when you can do the impossible with animation? Some stories require something out of the ordinary, and can only be told through motion graphics, 2d or 3d animation. Charities can use them to create characters, locations and whole worlds and craft the perfect experience for your audience. It’s a way of creating the kind of emotional connection that a film does, without any of the logistical challenges.

At Neck of the Woods Films we set out to produce animations for charities that will stand out and help drive change. We love the work that we do. We’re passionate about helping organisations achieve their goals and connect with people. We’ve helped global organisations, local innovators and even individuals achieve amazing things and we want to do that with you too.

Types of charity animation videos
Charity campaign animations

Campaign animations are powerful ways for organisations to reach new audiences, put important topics in the spotlight and to bring about change. A successful campaign results in people taking action; animation can make this happen.

Charity promotional animations

Charities often concentrate so hard on what they do that sometimes they forget to talk about themselves. A promotional animation is a way for organisations to tell these important stories. They’re a way of getting to the heart of what an organisation does and stands for. These films can connect you with your audience and show them that you’re someone they need to work with.

Charity explainer animations

Sometimes charities need to explain a complex idea or process to their audience. These can be hard to visualise and even harder to understand. This is where an explainer animation comes in. Using illustration, motion and sound is a way to bring these topics to life for audiences and help them understand.

Charity case study animations

Human stories move people, it’s that simple. They engage people, build trust and show the human side of an organisation. However, not everyone wants to share their story on camera. In these instances animation is a way for organisations to tell these stories and protect their storytellers.

Charity animation showreel

We’ve worked with charities of all shapes and sizes, from large national charities like Drinkaware and BookAid to small local charities like Southampton Hospitals Charity and York Road Project. We’ve made animations to share crucial information, films for national campaigns and personal case studies. Check our showreel for a sample of our work.

Charity Case Study Animation

Every year the charity Drinkaware commission a survey to try and understand the drinking habits of the nation. They share their findings as a way of increasing awareness around drinking and the potential dangers.

We created a series of animations that visualised the lived experiences of some of the people the charity spoke with. Using anonymised stories, we were able to bring these experiences to life through animation.

Bookaid are a charity striving to make books and reading as accessible as possible. They co-ordinate efforts globally. This is incredibly important, but it comes with its challenges.

The charity asked us to create an animation that would help share processes and information to help the people they work with globally. We created this film which is concise, informative and shareable.

Charity Campaign Animation

York Road Project has a clear goal; to end homelessness in Woking. As part of a Christmas specific campaign they wanted to create an emotive animation. This would shed light on the cost of living crisis and its role in homelessness.

We worked with the charity to create an animation that was emotive, stylised and, most importantly, direct.

Activity Alliance are pushing to make sport and activity sessions accessible for people with disabilities. The most effective way to do this is to make sure that coaches have the skills and confidence to facilitate this.

We created an animation to help the charity publicise a training programme for coaches. It helped to promote a new round of training for coaches as well as celebrating the strides the charity have already made.

Charity Animated Explainer

As a charity Drinkaware try to give people the information they need to make informed choices about their drinking. In order to achieve this they need to make the information easy to understand and compelling for the audience.

This explainer animation is one of a series of films that we created for the charity. It blends characters and motion graphics in order visualise various facts and figures about alcohol units.

The charities we create animations for

We work with change makers to create charity animation videos about positive change, human achievement and social impact. It may be the story of a youth programme, or the hero film that spearheads a vital fundraising campaign. If you’re looking to change the world in some way, you need these stories to be told well. Non-profits make our world better every day, but they aren’t always the best at telling these stories. We’re a full service video agency that helps charities do just that.

How we craft your charity animation video

From tiny acorns

  • Brief

If you’re looking to create a charity animation video that really connects with people, then having a detailed and open briefing process is the best place to start. We ask questions, challenge you and learn as much as we can about your charity and your brief.

  • Proposal

We love this part of the process, It’s the first opportunity in a project to think big and get creative. We take all of our thoughts, ideas and interpretations of a project and combine them into an easy to understand document for you to mull over.

  • Planning

We’re planners by nature, which we use to our advantage when it comes to making your charity animation video. We don’t always strictly follow a concrete plan, but creating one in the first place means we can all be on the same page and pulling in the same creative direction.

  • Video production services
    Creation

This is what we live for; the part where we get to film, edit and animate your story. All of the thinking and planning culminates in the creation of a charity animation video that you can be proud to share with your audience.

  • Video production services
    Delivery

The project has come to an end, sign-off has been given and we deliver your charity animation video in an upload-friendly format. But your journey is just starting! Now you get to share the project with the people who matter most.

We’re proud of our work, as are our charity clients.
  • We worked with Neck of the Woods to create a new, signature video for our charity and also social cuts from this. They were an absolute pleasure to work with from the very start and their professionalism and passion ensured that the end results were brilliant.

    Future First
  • We had the absolute pleasure of working with NOTW Films back in September and the experience will stay with us for a lifetime. From the very beginning of our project, they were nothing short of incredible and really took our very basic idea and turned it into something special. After a few positive planning meetings, they came to film and blew us away. It's safe to say every single member of our team who met them fell in love and we're all now individually plotting how we can work with them constantly going forward. The film they created surpassed all of our expectations and left us speechless.

    The Renewal Programme
  • "Our experience of working with NOTW is very positive, from the start they understood what we wanted to get out of the project and were empathetic to our cause. They guided us through the process with ease and we loved having them with us.
