Why confine yourself to what is possible in the real world, when you can do the impossible with animation? Some stories require something out of the ordinary, and can only be told through motion graphics, 2d or 3d animation. Charities can use them to create characters, locations and whole worlds and craft the perfect experience for your audience. It’s a way of creating the kind of emotional connection that a film does, without any of the logistical challenges.
At Neck of the Woods Films we set out to produce animations for charities that will stand out and help drive change. We love the work that we do. We’re passionate about helping organisations achieve their goals and connect with people. We’ve helped global organisations, local innovators and even individuals achieve amazing things and we want to do that with you too.
Campaign animations are powerful ways for organisations to reach new audiences, put important topics in the spotlight and to bring about change. A successful campaign results in people taking action; animation can make this happen.
Charities often concentrate so hard on what they do that sometimes they forget to talk about themselves. A promotional animation is a way for organisations to tell these important stories. They’re a way of getting to the heart of what an organisation does and stands for. These films can connect you with your audience and show them that you’re someone they need to work with.
Sometimes charities need to explain a complex idea or process to their audience. These can be hard to visualise and even harder to understand. This is where an explainer animation comes in. Using illustration, motion and sound is a way to bring these topics to life for audiences and help them understand.
Human stories move people, it’s that simple. They engage people, build trust and show the human side of an organisation. However, not everyone wants to share their story on camera. In these instances animation is a way for organisations to tell these stories and protect their storytellers.
We’ve worked with charities of all shapes and sizes, from large national charities like Drinkaware and BookAid to small local charities like Southampton Hospitals Charity and York Road Project. We’ve made animations to share crucial information, films for national campaigns and personal case studies. Check our showreel for a sample of our work.

Bookaid are a charity striving to make books and reading as accessible as possible. They co-ordinate efforts globally. This is incredibly important, but it comes with its challenges.
The charity asked us to create an animation that would help share processes and information to help the people they work with globally. We created this film which is concise, informative and shareable.
York Road Project has a clear goal; to end homelessness in Woking. As part of a Christmas specific campaign they wanted to create an emotive animation. This would shed light on the cost of living crisis and its role in homelessness.

Activity Alliance are pushing to make sport and activity sessions accessible for people with disabilities. The most effective way to do this is to make sure that coaches have the skills and confidence to facilitate this.

As a charity Drinkaware try to give people the information they need to make informed choices about their drinking. In order to achieve this they need to make the information easy to understand and compelling for the audience.
This explainer animation is one of a series of films that we created for the charity. It blends characters and motion graphics in order visualise various facts and figures about alcohol units.
We work with change makers to create charity animation videos about positive change, human achievement and social impact. It may be the story of a youth programme, or the hero film that spearheads a vital fundraising campaign. If you’re looking to change the world in some way, you need these stories to be told well. Non-profits make our world better every day, but they aren’t always the best at telling these stories. We’re a full service video agency that helps charities do just that.
