Each year, Drinkaware releases the Annual Monitor, an in-depth assessment of drinking behaviours, attitudes towards alcohol, and emerging trends in alcohol consumption. While the report provides valuable insights, the challenge is that such data-heavy content can sometimes feel difficult to engage with.
Drinkaware asked us to humanise the report by creating video storytelling for charities, making key findings more engaging and impactful for audiences. The focus was clear—people and their real, lived experiences. The idea was that by amplifying authentic voices, the films would connect with individuals who might be facing similar challenges, offering them reassurance and guidance.
We pitched several concepts, but one idea resonated most with Drinkaware—a live-action, interview-based film shot in a studio setting. While Drinkaware had the connections to individuals with lived experience, they needed a team to bring those stories to life—and that’s where we came in.
Our role covered the entire process, ensuring that everything—from the production setup to the conversations themselves—felt safe, natural, and impactful.

These films were a privilege to create. Having such open and honest conversations on a topic that is often shied away from was incredibly powerful. The final films have now been released into the world, and we’re confident that they will help people reflect on their own drinking habits and, if needed, feel empowered to make changes.
This project is exactly the kind of work we love—creating films that don’t just tell a story but make a difference.
