Gamban were looking to create a case study video that shared the experiences of one of their users; Danny Cheetham. Danny’s story is an emotional one of addiction and recovery. A story which people can relate to. They wanted the video to be concise, emotive but give people an idea of how Gamban can help people on their road to recovery. In terms of style, Gamban were looking to create something that had more of a documentary feel. They wanted something that felt natural and realistic for viewers who may have had similar experiences.

What we did
After some discussions about the most sensitive way to approach this case study video, we sat down with Danny to capture his story in his own words. Rather than make the video interview heavy, we spent time on location with Danny to capture cutaway footage to illustrate his story.

The result
This film achieved what we set out to accomplish, and has a documentary feel to it. This was about being human and personal. Capturing the story, rather than being creatively indulgent. It is a realistic depiction of Danny’s own personal story, rather than a hard sell on Gamban’s product or the dangers of gambling. Danny’s story will be recognised by lots of people and will hopefully help them find a solution to their own situation. It’s also a recognition of Danny’s own achievements, and we were grateful he was so open to sharing his story with us.
